Wow, I saw a lot of cool matches this year!

December 31, 2007 - Leave a Response

I wonder if, with all the shows I went to this year, some outside my local vicinity even, if I can be considered Super Markish. Or whatever.

I got to see some pretty sweet stuff in the year 2007, including the most profitable Wrestle Mania ever. I traveled 3 times out of Detroit (Kitty Limits) to see both WWE and ROH. I rekindled my love for local indy shows. It’s been a great year for me as far as wrestling goes.

So I sit here on the morning of the last day of the year, reflecting on 2007 and Kitty Limits’ life of pro wrestling…and I count down from the top ten matches I saw live in person.

Bret Hart Book Signing

December 7, 2007 - 5 Responses

I’ve been a wrestling fan for a long time.

I’ve also met a lot of wrestlers over the years. A lot. I have quite a few unique and funny stories.

There aren’t many that cause me to “Mark-out.” None, really. Except for one.

Bret Hart makes me feel like an 11-year old mark. I feel like what those millions of John Cena fans must feel like.

I met him tonight in Windsor, Ontario, Canada at a book signing. He was quite polite and kind, and seemed very genuine. You could tell he was exhausted, but he made a point to make conversation with everyone.

A few pictures of myself with him, as well as my friend with him, after the cut. Gotta love how he signed my friend’s book. Read the rest of this entry »

Tonight is the night: Raw is Jericho

November 19, 2007 - Leave a Response

At the risk of sounding no better than any other internet wrestling venue, I must make mention of tonight’s supposed “2nd_Coming.” The past couple months, we have witnessed a barrage of videos presented to us with an eventual pay off in mind. The pay off will be tonight, as last week’s video told us. The countdown will end. Something will happen.

Today’s Wrestling: “Good” or “Bad” ?

November 1, 2007 - 2 Responses

I have to say, it seems as if every corner I turn in the internet world of professional wrestling I read complaints people have. I hear wrestling fans actually hoping that ECW gets cancelled. I hear the same fans who whine about the lack of hype and build for events, complaining about the lack of instant payoff in the “Save_Us” videos. And worst of all, I read what fans who got wind of pro wrestling via Vince McMahon’s ideas do nothing but criticize the very product that they watch 5-8 hours a week. Read the rest of this entry »

Booker T – N – A

October 26, 2007 - 3 Responses

Oh noez.

There are rumors about Booker T, now former WWE wrassler, making his way to TNA. This would be huge for them. The respectable journalists over at PWInsider are reporting that Booker T might be Sting’s partner at Genesis, in the tag-team WORLD title match (?) against Kurt Angle, and the next big thing Kevin Nash. MVP vs. Matt Hardy vs. Everything Else in Pro Wrestling

October 25, 2007 - One Response

People like looking at professional wrestling as a separate world of entertainment. Wrestling is it’s own domain, own entity. It makes sense — what else falls under both “sports” and “entertainment”? UFC has yet to be “outed” as such (give it a few more years, and a few more buy rates). So wrestling is unique, sitting on the fence sort of. Yes, we all know it’s fake, but sometimes it plays an awkward role, when people who watch wrestling for years and even criticize it’s imperfections via internet methods, whine about Vince McMahon having WWE air a “tribute show” in his storied deaths’ honor. See, wrestling does not claim to be real. Does it? Read the rest of this entry »

Conspiracy Consideration: John Cena Injury a “Work”?

October 22, 2007 - Leave a Response

I know. I don’t believe it either. But it’s kind of funny to think about, considering the recent news regarding the former WWE Champion.

According to the beloved gossip column, TMZ.com, John Cena will be one of the contestants on the upcoming “Celebrity Apprentice.”

This might be the first time that I’m actually hoping beyond all hope that John Cena will destroy this competition. But really, how convenient that this would come up just in time after his injury. What would the case have been had he not gotten “injured?”

I think he just would not have done the show. Now excuse me while I go search for Tupac.

WWE Smackdown/ECW Detroit Tapings – 10/9/07

October 16, 2007 - Leave a Response

This past week was a crazy one for myself as a wrestling fan, as I was able to attend both No Mercy at the Rosemont Center in Chicago, Illinois, as well as the Smackdown/ECW tapings in my hometown of Detroit, Michigan. Sadly, I was unable to attend the Grand Rapids Raw due to school constraints, but someday I will achieve my goal of attending 3 WWE shows 3 days in a row! And then I can die.
