MVP vs. Matt Hardy vs. Everything Else in Pro Wrestling

People like looking at professional wrestling as a separate world of entertainment. Wrestling is it’s own domain, own entity. It makes sense — what else falls under both “sports” and “entertainment”? UFC has yet to be “outed” as such (give it a few more years, and a few more buy rates). So wrestling is unique, sitting on the fence sort of. Yes, we all know it’s fake, but sometimes it plays an awkward role, when people who watch wrestling for years and even criticize it’s imperfections via internet methods, whine about Vince McMahon having WWE air a “tribute show” in his storied deaths’ honor. See, wrestling does not claim to be real. Does it?
Right now, in the “world” of pro wrestling, there are many different “stories” that are progressing each other. Some are boring, and don’t interest me. A lot of that includes stuff that TNA is currently doing, but don’t jump on me. Samoa Joe is the same guy he was last year, and Christian is feuding with him for reasons I’ve already forgotten about. Anything Team 3-D does bores me, and for just a moment I could not remember who their champion was. This is sad. I’m a “pro wrestling mark,” and hard to not entertain.

Don’t get me wrong. There are some WWE things I’m not too excited for. Um,  Chuck Palumbo and Chris Masters? Why? Kane has not done anything to interest me in quite a while, and Triple H vs Umaga can’t end soon enough.

Let me tell you, however. There are some awesome, and exciting things. Some interesting things may be starting with Mickie James falling for Trevor Murdoch, that looked like it may have been hinted at this past Raw. Some adorable on going things, with Kelly Kelly loving Balls (sigh). We might not all be too happy with The Miz being in the title scene at ECW, but who cares with Morrison and CM Punk making up for it? The WWE Title scene is exciting, and Jeff Hardy’s presence has got even convinced. And while we’re on the subject of the Hardy’s…

MVP and Matt Hardy are the best thing that happened to pro wrestling in a long time. A long ass time. Thank you.

  1. Good points here, the MVP Matt Hardy story is definitely unique. I think Triple H deserves better than to be used just to put Orton over and then have feuds with guys like Umaga for weeks. Makes little sense that HBK returns and has a shot to face Orton for the title while HHH seems more appropriate
